OUR STORY

From Philippines to the World: The Selindra Legacy

Thirty-five years ago, in the heart of Angeles City, Pampanga, a group of skilled carpenters began building more than furniture — they began building a legacy.

What started as a humble workshop rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and Filipino resilience steadily grew into one of the most trusted names for custom-made pieces in the region. From family homes to five-star hotels, from restaurants to large-scale commercial spaces, our work became part of the places where life and business happen.

Through decades of dedication, Selindra became known not just for quality — but for precision, partnership, and permanence.

Every piece in wood, metal, or stone was designed with intention and built to endure.

At the helm of this growth is Bernie Palma, our Philippine CEO — a visionary entrepreneur with a deep respect for craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Under his leadership, Selindra strengthened its reputation as a creative and manufacturing force, delivering bespoke furniture and lighting solutions to establishments across the country.

But every legacy eventually seeks a larger stage.

The turning point came during a personal visit to the United States. Bernie traveled to reconnect with his son, Byron Palma, who had built his own path in Los Angeles. Growing up Filipino in the U.S. came with its challenges, but through perseverance and grit, Byron established himself as a successful barber in a highly competitive industry — earning respect through skill and determination.

As father and son spent time together, conversations naturally turned to craftsmanship, identity, and opportunity. Byron saw what many had admired for years — that the quality of Selindra’s work was not just locally competitive, but globally exceptional. Meanwhile, Bernie observed the American design landscape and recognized something powerful:

Filipino craftsmanship deserved a global platform.

What began as a family visit evolved into a shared vision.

Only months later, Selindra Designs Inc. was born in the United States — with Bernie Palma leading as Philippine CEO and Byron Palma stepping in as CEO for U.S. Operations. Together, they created a bridge between heritage craftsmanship in Pampanga and modern design demands abroad.

Today, Selindra stands on two strong foundations:

• The pioneering carpenters of Angeles City who built our legacy.

• A new generation expanding that legacy across borders.

We are more than furniture makers.

We are builders of heritage.

We are innovators grounded in tradition.

And we are bringing Filipino excellence to the world.
